Alioscopy - Glasses-free 3D displays

In order to perceive depth, our eyes must see slightly offset views of a scene. Unlike other systems requiring special glasses, Alioscopy achieves glasses-free stereovision by displaying special content on its 3D displays. Specially mixed videos combining 8 different points of view of a scene are displayed on customized LCD screens fitting an array of lenticular lenses. Each eye addresses these lenses from a different angle and perceives a different point of view in the mixed video. This results in a stereo effect and the perception of content in volume, with amazing depth and staggering pop out effects.

Alioscopy 3D displays have multiple viewing zones allowing multiple users to enjoy the experience at the same time.

40" full HD (1920 x 1080) flat LCD panels can be supplied.

How to create content?

Alioscopy 3D displays support both flat video and 3D content. Computer-generated imagery is the best available source for 3D content. Plugins are available for 3DS-Max and XSI but Maya or Lightwave can be used as well. In order to be displayed in volume, 3D scenes must be rendered with 8 slightly offset cameras instead of one. The resulting 8 image streams are then pre-mixed into a single one with dedicated software or mixed on the fly with our special player. Training and tutorials are available to our customers.

3D scanners can also provide content for medical applications and VR tools can also be interfaced with Alioscopy to handle objects in volume. As mentioned above, standard flat videos can be displayed as well without any loss in quality.
